13 September Selena answering questions about her favorite products and more in interview with Allure Magazine

Selena answering questions about her favorite products, biggest beauty secrets and more in interview with Allure Magazine.

Best habit you’ve picked up during quarantine:

Cooking.

The worst:

Watching too much TV.

A beauty habit you left behind in your teens:

I clean my skin now. In my teens, I just didn’t care. I would sleep with makeup on and get away with it, I guess, for a little bit.

One beauty technique you’re bomb at now, and one you still need help with:

I still need help with eye shadow. What I’ve got down is the winged look. The tip [of Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Linerstays] pretty straight, and it’s smooth. It’s one of my favorites.

Off-duty makeup routine:

Lately, I’ve been using my Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Bliss a lot. I just tap it onto my cheekbones and maybe a little color on my lip.

First thing you do when you wake up:

I usually drink a lot of water. It takes me a good 15 minutes to get out of bed.

The secret to a really good shower:

Lemon and eucalyptus essential oils. [It’s a blend] that awakens everything.

Last thing you do before you go to sleep:

My dogs come in my bed, and I wash my face. I’ll put on something comforting [to watch], like Friends or Will & Grace, and just watch a few episodes, then fall asleep.

Something you can’t get enough of:

Laughter. I love to laugh. I’m telling you, it’s the greatest thing. I do not have a very delicate laugh.

Accessories staple:

Always been a hoops girl.

Short or long hair:

Short. Everybody says the long hair is me and I think that’s because I’ve worn it for a huge period of my life. But my short hair will, I think, always be me.

Drugstore buys:

I usually go in for snacks and then end up buying [other] things. You never know when you need something like toenail clippers.

Comfort food:

Chicken and dumplings. Only from my nana — she makes the best.

On repeat:

Bob Dylan. “The Times They Are A-Changin’.”

Last tattoo you got:

After the album [Rare] came out, I went to New York and had Bang Bang put the word “Rare” [under my ear]. He was like, “Why are you getting a neck tattoo?” I was like, “No, you’ll understand.”
