7 November: Selena talks ‘Wizards Of Waverly Place’ in the new interview for ‘First For Women Magazine’

In an exclusive interview for ‘First For Women Magazine’, Selena Gomez revealed that before booking her Alex Russo role in Wizards Of Waverly Place, she did ‘Suite Life of Zack & Cody’, ‘Hannah Montana’, & other 3 pilots for Disney Channel, including the one where she was supposed to play a girly-girl and wear high heels & all pink.

‘I played a different character in that one. I was a girly-girl, I wore high heels, and pink, I had all my hair and makeup done constantly everywhere I went.’ – Selena

Selena also revealed that Disney Channel had trouble picking up the right girl to play Alex Russo, so they called her, asking to get auditioned.

‘I wasnt actually supposed to be doing this pilot; I was doing a pilot going against Wizards of Waverly Place. I did Suite Life and that showโ€™s producer liked me and wanted to put me in her spin-off of Suite Life, so I auditioned and tested for it and ended up booking it.’ – Selena

‘Yes, thatโ€™s for sure. Me and Alex kind of blend and weโ€™re basically the same person. For instance, I cant wear heels in real life. Im a klutz and I fall, and the writers wrote that in an episode where Alex pulls out a pair of Converse to wear instead of heels.’ – Selena on if she sees Alex’s character becoming more like her or if they’re very different from each other

‘The whole scene was me spinning. I was just constantly going in circles and then they sped it up. I did get a little dizzy, but I was okay. The good thing is that I could go at my own pace and they could just speed it up later.’ – Selena on spinning in ‘Crazy 10 Minute Sale’ episode of the 1st season of Wizards

Selena reveals to ‘First For Women Magazine’ that filming Wizards in front of an audience was ‘an adrenaline rush’ for her.

‘It was such an amazing feeling to make kids laugh. It’s worth everything I do. Itโ€™s a great feeling and an adrenaline rush, it just gets us all pumped up.’ – Selena

‘Disney Channel never had a show with this whole magic element to it. I think what will appeal most to kids is that everything they wish they could do or most dream about, we bring to life.’ – Selena on Wizards Of Waverly Place
